Benefits Enrollment Experience Redesign

Project
Introduction
The Purdue University employee benefits enrollment process was complicated. Users had to take too many steps to complete the whole process. The user interface looked outdated and did not interact with users very well. We ran 4 weeks of design sprints to redesign the enrollment user flow and user interface. A design style guide was created and added to the university web design system.

Project
Goals
From our study of the two user groups, the marketing team summarized the following requirements:
• An enrollment process has fewer steps from OneCampus to the end.
• A new user interface works more efficiently for the benefits enrollment and management.
• A progress bar shows users how many tasks have been completed.
• A real-time benefit summary shows the user’s payment per paycheck during the process.
Redesign
User Flow
I redesigned the user flow to simplify the process from start to finish. The idea was to merge some of the enrollment steps by using a responsive enabling design pattern.
