Plant Saver

A plant-care mobile app design

Project
Introduction
This was an Adobe XD daily creative challenge project that invited global designers to create the foundational pieces for a plant-care app in 9 days. Every designer was asked to complete a task each day from June 21 to July 2, 2021, then share the designs on the Discord challenge channel. The goal of this challenge was to exercise brand development, visual, and UI skills, learn from each other, and have fun.

Mood Board
The mood board study is a tool to help designers hone their visual ideas at the start of a creative project including color palette, pattern, shape, texture, imagery, motion, and sound. I searched a lot of plant photos, and then collected some of my favorites to discover the visual design elements for the mobile app.

During the challenge, I got a lot of inspiration from other designers, as well as many helpful suggestions from mentors. My mood board has been refreshed a lot. My designs were revised a few times in the color scheme and photo choices. Finally, I thought the simple background images with zoom-in crops made the designs a simple, clean, and detail-focused feel that well visualized the branding.
